Keeping The Body Moving Is Easier With A 3 Wheel Rollator

By Dolores Harrison

One grow up with a chorus of advice informing that each individual is different, or as the glib saying goes, each person is unique, just like everybody else. This also applies to how our body develops and ages, each dependent on the lifestyles and choices one makes. Trends, however, apply to the vast majority, and aging in general means a decrease in mobility, which is when a 3 wheel rollator can help.

The process of aging has been the focus of mankind throughout the ages, famously driving Ponce de Leon in search of the fountain of youth. The desire to defy aging is an equal opportunity desire; women seek to retain their youthful beauty while men seek to maintain vigor and strength. While the most recognized aging issue deals with changes to the skin and hair, quickly declaring relative age, this is a mere cosmetic event of little health impact.

In our youth, the very notion of getting old and dealing with such health issues is anathema to most, as is concern over wear and tear on the weight bearing parts of our anatomy. The fact is, however, that as we do increase the umber of years we live, care for the most rigorously used body parts should be considered. It is truly possible to overuse and abuse our skeleton and joints ultimately to the detriment of mobility and health.

We see this fairly clearly with professional athletes, who are the epitome of youth and vigor in their prime. The duration of professional athletic careers, however, are notoriously short. The average length of a career in a professional sport is less than ten years. In the physical contact sports, many individuals suffer from health issues for the rest of their lives.

Even without such trying physical endeavors, the ability of the human body to perform flexibly and with strength gradually declines over time. While there are no precise demarcation lines, in general by the time one reaches 40 years of age, one has reached the stage of decline. From then on, one is in a never ending battle to preserve the strength, flexibility and agility one had.

In like fashion, rheumatoid arthritis attacks the sacs of fluids which lubricate the joints with a similar result. This disease usually attacks both sides of the body at the same time, such as both knees or elbows. The swelling, stiffness and pain can make everyday tasks difficult if not impossible.

For those who suffer broken bone, separated shoulders or strained and twisted joints, the damage lingers, compounding the usual ailments of maturity. There are surgical procedures designed to correct damage done to ligaments and cartilage, and they serve to alleviate a lot of discomfort. Unfortunately, even with the additional care professional athletes get, the repaired part is just not the same as the original.

Without considerable effort, one can easily enter a spiral of decreasing capability. In the aftermath of surgery and with most forms of arthritis the less one moves, the greater the decrease in ability. One means of preventing this decline is activity, and a 3 wheel rollator can help keep one mobile.
